March 24, 2019 Conservation Project in Bethpage State Park

Project involves removing invasive vines from trees along the trail. Allowing trees to grow and eventually shade the vines and out compete them.

Meet at the intersection of Colonial Rd and Haypath Rd in Old Bethpage at 9:00 am. This location is at the northern end of Bethpage State Park. Click on the link below for maps and directions.

Bring hedge trimmers; loppers; gloves; eye protection; snack; water

Directions: If using a gps set the location to 47 Colonial Rd, Old Bethpage, NY

From Rt 135 (Seaford Oysterbay Exp) take exit 9. Head east on Broadway and than north on Plainview Rd. The first cross street intersection with a traffic light is Haypath Rd. Turn right (east). You will pass through Bethpage/Trail View State Park. There is a trail crosswalk there. The next street is Colonial Rd, turn left (north). We will park on Colonial Rd just north of Haypath Rd.

All participants must complete a Volunteer Service Agreement form which covers you with Workman's Comp. This will be sent to you when you register. You only need to do this once a year. If you already completed one you do not have to complete another.

All scouts must also bring a completed BSA Medical and Informed Consent Part A and B ONLY available here Only 1 per year required.
